Growing With Golden!

Say man, where you been? You been ducking and dodging these blog posts like you owe them money!

Well, I won’t say that is definitely true, so I will say.. I plead the FIF.

This follow along into the personal side of Golden, and where I have been over the past month or so should provide a little in sight into my mysterious lack (perceived) of production! I hope we can still be friends after this!

As you may have figured, I am all about learning and growing to be the best version of yourself. I personally feel that when I am away from my family, friends, and other loved ones, that they are striving to place themselves in the best position in life that they can muster. I personally live my life to enjoy the fruits of my labor. I work hard, so that I don’t have to regret playing harder. If you ever meet me, do business with me, or invest quality time with me, you will know that I enjoy a balanced life of fun and work!

(this section is for specially for the creatives who sell their art!)

In the time I have been away, I have been working on behind the scenes stuff. I discovered my creativity as a youth, and found different mediums to express my artistic ability. As I have grown into the ‘adult world’, accompanying the experiences I have accumulated through corporate structure, I realize that it is mandatory I learn the business side of my talents. If I am to offer a service, I must be adequately paid for my value.

One thing I feel many creatives do that can harm their sales is by not valuing their own work enough. Many artist pay for their materials, invest their time, and energy to creating a product. So artist, yes, you (truthfully not ALL customers are right) must stand firm on determining what your time and energy is worth when pricing your artwork-product. If you are confident enough to put any price tag on it, you should value it enough to be paid what its worth, other wise give it away for free.

I told myself this, and it changed my perspective on providing services! People will respect your time a lot more when you determine what you require up front. It sets a standard and precedent for how your interaction should be handled. (Good luck out there, signed Aric the Creative)

so you haven’t been ducking and dodging the blog posts, and you don’t owe b.p. no money?

Student loans, maybe, but ignoring blog posts? NAH.

So I have learning about my business structure, taxes, policies, and all the stuff that establishes you as a business! I have invested time into learning more about the craft, watching various YouTube University courses, (youtube, is like google, but with visuals! Do not sleep on the benefits of learning from YouTube.) and practicing with different environments. Luckily for me, in these environments I am able to dwell together with wonderful people who are pursuing their passions! It is important to surround your self with individuals who are living their truth, and striving for greater.

In my absence I have taken the time to create some new experiences for which I am thankful. I attended Langston University, in Oklahoma, and lived in the state for 6 years. Growing up in Arlington, TX I would drive from Langston to Arlington for years, never taking the time to stop in Turner Falls, Oklahoma, a point approximately 100 miles outside of Langston. Upon stopping, I was immediately impressed by the natural beauty of this gem, hidden in the highway hills of Oklahoma! Here is the beautiful scenery of waterfalls, from the overlook posted on my instagram @goldendoesit !

Another recent experience I took was to downtown Dallas. Like Turner Falls, the actual place of Downtown Dallas was always on my previous routes, yet were mere peripheral locations. I took the journey to downtown on a cool, and sunny Texas day. You know the kind where if you find shade you’re fine, if you don’t you’re fried? kinda day? Yea that’s the one.

Luckily for me, the large, pristine clouds loomed gently across the even larger sky scrapers which casts their shadows far across the streets below. Just an hour afternoon, Downtown Dallas was a lot quieter than I imagined it would be.

Myself being a man of large stature, whom usually is taller than most I encounter was in awe by the sheer size of the buildings in this area. Large reflective glass panels, almost clearly displaying their near cohorts. Their intricate designs, and bold structures is enough to humble anyone. There was an elegant breeze flowing between these buildings, and along with it I floated taking photos of the long sight lines I found. Among the buildings is where I met up with local designer, photographer, and all around culture enthusiast Pro. Leon, ‘Pro’ or @get2knowpro is a Canadian transplant whose versatility should not be overlooked.

From hand trimming his designs, getting crisp photos, or breaking the floor with his break dancing skills, he brings more than enough energy to keep the party going. He exchanged some wise words as he worked on one of his custom Dallas Mavs Player Luka Doncic jersey which you can see below!

I have learned that to be successful it is important to believe in and work on your dream. That you are ensuring to surround yourself with those who not only support you, but can provide constructive criticisms to elevate your skills. Another key point I have discovered is that failing is an integral part of finding success.

Failing creates the ability to not only foster beneficial neuro-path ways and problem solving skills, but it directly establishes humility and growth from learning experiences. This is why jobs are looking for ‘working’ experience over an unskilled individual. Like jobs, your life will test you for your application of wisdom. It will throw you into new challenges once you have learned an old lesson to see are you applying your ability and skill, or regressing.

My goal is growth daily, how are you overcoming your past challenges to improve?

In this last quarter of 2019, I have established a direction and set of goals I would like to work towards and achieve, they are as follows;

  1. Complete my overhaul of my website design & layout.

  2. Reach my financial targets for Golden Does It as a second income source.

  3. Continue to build attachment to those who are following my growth, and growing with Golden!

How can Golden help you?

My target audience is of all walks of life, but I specifically look to interact with creatives, businesses who need modern solutions, and young adults working to increase their life’s stability. My art is a medium of photography, aesthetics design, and painting. I can create websites, marketing plans, copywriting, professional headshots, and product photography for your brand or business. I also focus on writing relatable blogs for those seeking to create personal development in themselves. Whether you’re looking to network with me as a creative, utilize my mind for business, or find ways to personally develop, I aim to create a solution and spread that solution to the culture!
