3 Little Lessons and Keep Your House from Blowing Down
If you are reading this, I can imagine you haven’t hit the lottery or raking in the millions yet. No big deal, many of us are all searching for bigger and better, but struggle from time to time to achieve those heights.
If you are like me, you have done your fair share of uncomfortable and utterly disgusting jobs to create a living for yourself. I have monitored parking lots in the dead of Texas summer heat with no air conditioning. I have cleaned shower rooms, and sanitized toilets at one the largest truck stops in the mid-west states. I have even changed a diaper or two in my time. Although these situations were tough, I learned a lot about myself, and the working world. I apply what I learned through various situations, adding them to my life and improving my situations whenever I have plateaued.
The first lesson I learned is to listen to my spirit. There are times we feel as though our life is in shambles. We grudgingly wake up, with stress on our minds, get ourselves and family ready, and journey out into the world to work for a check. We exchange time and energy for what seems like, never enough money. The ability to express yourself, your true self, is a crucial necessity.
It is important to our personal health, as well as relationships with friends, family, and our social communities. In listening to our spirits, specially in our times of feeling down, it is imperative that we understand there is more to life than living check to check, and always having to focus on expenses. I am not advocating that you up and quit your job without a plan of action, but just know if you have any of the feelings above, it MAY be time you analyze your situation.
The second lesson I learned was value of self. Not having confidence in myself, I had passed up certain opportunities in the work place. Also, being too comfortable in a routine, I had placed myself in positions of discomfort and stagnancy. It was not until I listened to myself fully, and decided to take action that I noticed a drastic change in my happiness.
I am still manifesting, and unlocking the next levels of life. Taking action to listen to myself and realizing my value has inspired me to achieve and reach higher goals.
The third lesson was that if you died today or could not continue to work, your position in the company will be listed tomorrow. Yes, work hard. Yes, ensure that your tasks are taken care of, but be mindful of the energy you expend for the company that you work with. Many people live past the age of 70, but die at 25. Their spirit dies by remaining in positions that drains them of their energy and time, and often times for inadequate pay.
If you must take on less than ideal positions to maintain, ensure that you remain open to learning various skills and knowledge so that you invest your time, and not spend it. Spending time that you cannot get back, AND not getting paid what you worth, forfeits your energy. You have now lost three times over. Hopefully you can be wise, and learn from my mistakes!
