Working Weekends

Do you work for yourself when you’re off work?

Do you work for yourself when you’re off work?

No one cares to really work their 9-5 on Saturday or Sunday. Whether you are cramped in your cubicle or rushing from retail, no one enjoys that weekend shift! I assume like most adults, you have a 40 hour work week, and maybe even an additional job.

This and other factors can seem difficult to manage your time. I get it, when you have “down time” you want to kick your feet up and rest. Rest is very important in functioning at high capacity, however when are you working for YOU?

These posts are written for those whom are “transitioning from broke to bands”. In other words, they are created for the individuals who are not determined to just survive day to day. These blogs are also a reminder to self about the necessity to always to “mind my business”.

In the sense that my time should be invested into “my business”. We live in a time of direct opportunity! If you are reading this, you have the power of the world at your fingertips. You can find the answer to essentially any question you could think of with the quick internet search.

This includes ways to make money in your spare time!

If you do not know where to start because you are always working weekends, check your schedule! Are you waking up and scrolling social media in bed? Do you find yourself “watching” tv, while you scroll your timeline? I recommend starting with something you already enjoy doing.

For me, I really enjoy art, and photography in particular. The love of photography began in the traditional, dark room of my high school. Since then, I have taken many landscape photos, until striving to monetize my passion in my hobby.

Making money, doing something that you enjoy is a great feeling. I would note it is important to not allow the money to ruin for your love and passion for a hobby. The important thing to remember is to create a plan, and execute that plan when seeking to increase your money.

Working for self can be rewarding, as you become more confident in your ability to generate money and capital for your desired lifestyle. The money, and your increasing stability is dependent on you, your business, and your desire to work through the weekends and for self. When you are establishing your life’s comfort, be not afraid to think 10, 20, 30, 40 and even 50 years ahead.

Thinking ahead will set in place systems for yourself, parents, your children, and their children. Enjoy and make use of the time you have, even if you are working weekends!
