I know things can feel tough. Days where there is seemingly no hope.

Friendly reminder, you have survived 100% of your worst days.

So in the test of life, you’re doing just fine. I remember my college algebra professor said to us

“It’s okay to not be okay, but it is not okay, to stay that way.”

The statement always resonated with me. It said, and still says to me, even when I feel down, at SOME point, I have to get back up. I cannot wallow in the pits of despair and degradation.

Being educated in Clinical Psychology, mental health is extremely important to me.

Two of the most prominent things I learned were as follows;

1.) Roughly 1/5 of Americans (reported) has dealt with mental health challenges over the course of a year.

2.) Psychologist & other Licensed Professional Counselors are encouraged to seek some intervention of therapy to allow themselves decompression from the sessions with their own patients!

This means that even professionals within the field needs time to decompress, and release energies and sentiments they may have captured during their time with clients.

As someone who has combated depression episodes, and anxiety, I hope that you find solace and take the time to understand that although some times tough, you can overcome anything you put your mind to!
