Nights at the Skybox
If you do not know by now, start at the beginning of my blogs and learn a little bit more about me! If you do know, then you are aware that I am working to not become a humongous hermit confined to my house!
Because, People, am I right? And traffic? Let’s not even tip toe down that anger filled highway.
You know when you invest time into identifying what you personally like, you find new ways to entertain those likes. I recently plugged in with creative & music based collective called 808Entertainment which has thrown some great events, and they have been inspiring me to venture further out! You can check out more details about them here.
So fast forward & peep the scene right? I’m chilling, macking, cooling, like the OTHER side of the pillow when the hardest working MC in America, Ric Hussle hits my line about an event he’s hosting. You see all the “vibes” and cool, almost mystic environments of hip-hop scenes from movies, but being in those spaces is another type of enjoyment must experience.
To see where new and ground break hip - hop and other artist begin to flourish is amazing.
This particular Saturday night, I found myself in downtown Dallas listening to the melodic and hypnotic beats of Skybox Sounds featuring the artist in this posts. Check them out!
Artist, Tha God performing tracks from his album ‘Love God’
One thing that caught my attention about Tha God, was obviously his intentional name, but also what he said before starting his set. He spoke to the crowd “Y’all don’t respect the mic hea?”, whom briefly before hand had dispersed among the room engaged in conversations, waiting on the next performance. Upon stating this, the crowd immediately drew back in, and he gained their attention.
I knew sh*t or shine, in that moment I have to give that man his time.
Ric Hussel, THe Hardest Working MC in America
Talk about adventures! Everyone knows traffic can get hectic, and Dallas parking makes it no better! We end up a few steps behind the event starting, and Ric & I almost didnt make it in! I had to remind him to tell the ladies at the door that HE WAS ON THE FLYER! LOL. That being said, sometimes you have to remember who you are!
Skybox Sounds open bar during the event!
All eyes on xxbarlos while she rocking the crowd

All in all, I have invested this year in revamping and creating a better, more positive mindset. Changing my mindset has opened new doors, and opportunities to things I have never done before. I have always worked to be positive and open minded, but this year had definitely been a challenging one, but in a positive way.
